The largest X-ray laser to step up the pace in Europe

The 3.4km European X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL), the leading edge and the largest x-ray laser in the world, can generate extremely intense X-ray flashes to be used by researchers from all over the world. The European XFEL can take 3,000 images per second of that tiny world, will begin its experiments later this month, inaugurated with prominent guests from across Europe and science ministers officially start the research operation of the facility on Friday (Sep 1) near Hamburg, northern Germany. It also promised to shed new light onto very small things by letting scientists penetrate the inner workings of atoms, viruses, chemical reactions and capturing the movements of enzymes.

The European XFEL has one unique feature in its name, it can fire off 27,000 pulses per second, making it about 200 time faster than the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) in the US.

“The European XFEL project is a joint scientific project in the spirit of the Enlightenment and of international cooperation, and a promising example of European integration in action and of the success of European research funding”, said Mayor Scholz.

Smart Keyboard Dials up & MX Sound 2.0 Speakers

Logitech has introduced and launched its latest innovative products, wireless desktop PC accessories: Craft keyboard and MX Sound 2.0 speakers at IFA 2017 in Berlin.

Logitech Craft keyboard, it features Crown, an aluminium touch-based dial that works exactly like Microsoft Dial. You can assign certain values to be manipulated while making a digital art, or even working on a Microsoft Excel sheet.

The Logitech Craft keyboard also features smart illumination technology with backlighting system that can detect the hand movement and adjust lighting automatically depending on the room conditions. It also supports up to three devices at any given time.

Logitech’s MX Sound 2.0 speakers which can be connected individually via Bluetooth 4.1 or 3.5 mm cable. They feature backlit buttons that also detects motion of sound to give pleasurable aesthetics. They can be paired with up to two devices at the same time.
